Playing the WSOP 2007
After much debating I , decided to play in a WSOP no limit event. I had always wanted to play but something held me back. I’m not sure if it was fear or money or a combination of the 2 . But it turns out I was going to be in Vegas for business during the event so i thought it was an omen. A very old friend decided to sponser me. i don’t think he really thought he would make a fortune on me but it’s fun to be in the action and help out an old friend.
My first decision was which event to play in. There were several events going on while i was out there. It turns out one of the games was the Ladies event . It was $500 cheaper than the regular multi-sex no limit hold-em event so that was one plus. But I know women are much tougher players to read than men so I wasn’t sure i wanted to go up against so many of them. I had 3 days to decide .
I finally made up my mind after what happened at a cash game at the Wynn. A nice looking guy was sitting next to a very nice looking girl, both a little tipsy. He bet out in early position pre-flop and had 2 callers, she being one of them. The flop comes down, someone raises, he reraises she calls the original raiser folds. The turn comes down, he bets, she call. He then turns up his cards to show trips before the river. She smiled and through in her cards . Now when was the last time that happened in a Ladies event? My decision was made. I was playing in the mixed game. I needed all the advantages i could get. Will be back soon.
The event was quite an exopoerience althought not all good. They have many kinks to work out but i can’t talk about it now.
