Decide What You Want
Be clear on what is most important to you in your negotiation and rank your priorities. The negotiation checklist is a guide for deciding what you want to hold firm on and where you are willing to give in.

When you look at me now you see a confident woman. This was not always the case. I had the drive and desire to win but did not know how to get there. Understanding poker taught me perspective and stifled my doubts about “being good enough” to earn my seat at the table. Not only can I negotiate a win, I can negotiate the next ask. Skills expected of any expert trader. But what really made me successful in my career was my ability to recognize opportunities and take them before I felt qualified – advancing upward from roles in finance to trading and then to portfolio management – all under 15 years at Two Sigma Investments. If I waited until I felt qualified, I would have waited a very long time. Poker taught me to take opportunities when they presented themselves. Don’t wait for the ask, make the ask. Be bold.
I can honestly say that this is the best client event I’ve ever attended.
How often do you find books that promise to teach you everything there is to know about playing poker? Too often, that’s how. So, when another “how to play” book comes along, the poker world barely rears its head in acknowledgement. But, when something entirely new comes along, the entire poker world practically stands at attention. And this time, with “PokerWoman” gracing the shelves, it seems as if the whole world will be standing alongside the poker enthusiasts. You see, this book isn’t about winning at poker – it’s about winning at work, love, and life through poker.
